Search and Filter by Tags

Easily find relevant demos in your Demo Library by searching or filtering by tags.

The Search by Tag feature makes it easy to find relevant demos in your Demo Library or My Demos by searching and filtering directly by tags. Instead of manually browsing through your entire demo list or navigating to a separate filter menu, you can type a tag name in the search bar and see auto-suggested tags that match the search input. This feature is especially valuable if your team has established a tagging system for organizing your demo library.

Getting Started

This feature is enabled for all users automatically. There's no configuration or admin setup needed. If your team has already created tags in your Demo Library or My Demos, you can start using Search by Tag right away.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do I need to set up tags before I can use this feature?

A: This feature works automatically with any tags your team has already created. If you haven't created tags yet, consider starting with a simple tagging structure (like product names, industries or use cases) to get the most value from Search by Tag.

Q: Can I filter by multiple tags at the same time?

A: Yes! Select multiple tags from the suggestions and the results will show only demos that have ALL of the selected tags.

Q: What if I search for a tag that doesn't exist?

A: You'll see a "No tags found" message in the dropdown. Double-check your spelling or try a different tag name. If you think a tag should exist, check with your team about your tagging conventions.

Q: Can I search for text and tags at the same time?

A: Absolutely! Select your tag filters first, then type additional keywords and press Enter. The results will show demos matching both your tags and your text search.

Q: What happens with tag names longer than 20 characters?

A: Long tag names will be truncated with "..." in the dropdown. Hover over the tag name to see the full name before selecting it.

Q: Can I combine this with other filters?

A: Yes! Tag search works alongside other filters like creator, creation date, and more. Use them together to refine your results.

Best Practices

  • Establish a tagging standard: Work with your team to create a consistent tagging system (e.g., by product, industry, use case or audience).

  • Use short, descriptive tags: Keep tag names concise and clear so they're easy to search for.

  • Search regularly: The more you use Search by Tag, the more you'll discover patterns in your library organization.

  • Combine filters: Don't hesitate to mix tags with text search and other filters for precision results

  • Review and update tags: Periodically review your tags to ensure they're still relevant and consistent across your library.

Troubleshooting

I'm not seeing any tag suggestions when I type

  • Make sure you've typed at least 1 character

  • Check that tags exist in your Demo Library or My Demos

  • Verify the spelling of the tag you're searching for

  • If you're new to tagging, ask your team about the naming conventions they use

The results don't seem right

  • Remember that when filtering by multiple tags, only demos with ALL selected tags will appear

  • Try removing some filters to broaden your results

  • Use text search alongside tags to narrow down further

  • Clear your filters and start fresh if needed

I want to suggest a new tag for my team

  • Contact your content admin or team manager about establishing new tags

  • Share your suggested tag name and explain how it would help organize the library
