Recommended First Steps
Your first week in Consensus
Below is a recommended path through your first week using Consensus. Hit these milestones in order and you'll be sending personalized demos that drive measurable engagement by Friday.
Day 1 — set up your profile
- Click your name in the bottom-left, choose My Profile.
- Fill in contact info: phone, calendar link, LinkedIn, job title.
- Upload a profile photo so your DemoBoards have a face.
- Set your Time Zone and Date Format.
- Record a Default Personal Intro Video (PIV) — 30-60 seconds, just say hi and frame what the demo is about. PIVs consistently boost DemoBoard engagement.
See "Managing User Profiles" for the full profile setup walkthrough.
Day 2 — explore your Demo Library
- Click Library → Demos.
- Browse the Demo Library tab to see what content your team has built.
- Heart any demos you'll use often — they show up in your Favorites tab.
- Hover any demo to see its Stats and try opening one in preview to feel the viewer experience.
See "Setting Up Your Demo Library" for the four library views (My Demos, Demo Library, Favorites, Promoted).
Day 3 — send your first DemoBoard
- Click Share → DemoBoard.
- Pick a demo from the playlist.
- Add yourself as the recipient (use a personal email so you experience the viewer flow).
- Toggle Mark as Test in Additional Options so this DemoBoard doesn't pollute your real metrics.
- Click Create DemoBoard, copy the link, paste it into an email to yourself.
- Open the email, click the link, walk through the demo as a prospect would.
See "Create a DemoBoard within Consensus" for the full creation flow.
Day 4 — review the analytics
- Click Analytics → DemoBoards Demolytics.
- Find your test DemoBoard. Look at the engagement data: which features you rated, how long you watched.
- Try the Filter icon to exclude Internal Domains and Test DemoBoards. This is what real reporting looks like.
See "How to Filter Your Demolytics" for the full filtering guide.
Day 5 — send to a real prospect
- Identify a prospect in your pipeline that's ready for a demo (typically post-discovery, pre-deeper-dive).
- Create a DemoBoard for them. Don't mark this one as Test.
- Send via email using the Image Link CTA — it's the highest-converting format.
- Watch your inbox: you'll get a notification email the moment they start watching.
See "Tips for Composing an Email" for the email itself.
Beyond Day 5
- Public Links for marketing-led demos.
- Mail Merge for outbound campaigns.
- Tags and folders for organizing your library.
- Group hierarchy for team-level Demolytics.
