How to Create Discovery Demos
Create a Discovery Demo
Discovery Builder is Consensus's most flexible demo type — it links Tours, video demos, and ReachSuite Simulations into one personalized buyer experience. Viewers follow branching paths based on their answers to discovery questions, so the same link adapts for executives, managers, and end users without you sending three different demos.
Who can create Discovery Demos
Four roles have Discovery Demo Creator permissions on by default: Admin, Content Manager, Content Author, and Public Link Manager. Custom roles can be granted the permission via Roles & Permissions.
Open the Demo Wizard
Click Create in the left-hand sidebar, then choose Discovery Demo.

Create menu expanded — Discovery Demo option.
Step 1: Demo Info
Add an Internal Title and Description for your team plus an External Title that viewers see on the cover page.

Step 1: Demo Info.
Step 2: Demo Style Settings
Pick the DemoPlayer language, set logos, and choose brand colors. The contact information set here is the main point of contact attached to this demo.

Step 2 (top) — language, theme, logos, brand colors.

Step 2 (bottom) — Contact Info.
Important: All Dynamic Tour brand settings are configured in Step 2 — except the recording target, which lives in the ReachSuite portal's brand settings.
BIR — Background Image Required. Upload a background image in Step 2 so the buyer doesn't see a plain grey screen between content blocks.
Step 3: Demo Content — the Discovery Builder
Optionally upload an intro video, then click "Build a new Discovery Demo" to open the Discovery Builder. (You can also leave the intro blank so sellers attach their own Personal Intro Video when sending.)

Step 3: Demo Content — intro video plus the entry point to Discovery Builder.
Building blocks
Discovery Builder has two block types — interaction blocks and content blocks.
Interaction blocks:
- Full Screen Dialog — a takeover screen with text. Use to set context or introduce a concept.
- Call to Action — direct viewers to a Simulation, website, or any external URL.
- Discovery Question — prompt viewers with a question whose answer routes them to the next step.
- Lead Capture Form — your standard Consensus lead gate. This replaces lead forms inside any pre-existing content blocks.
Content blocks (anything you've built before):
- Standard Personalization Demos. (March 2026: Intro Videos in Standard Personalization Demos now carry over into Discovery Demos.)
- Single Experience Demos — including those with Video, Story Path Tours, or Dynamic Tours.
- Stand-alone Dynamic Tours from the ReachSuite portal.
Note: Advanced Branching Demos and ReachSuite Intelligent Disco Flows are not available as Discovery Demo content blocks.
Building a flow
The canvas opens with a Start node. Drag content blocks or interaction blocks onto the canvas, then click the orange dot on each block to draw a connection to the next block. You can connect any block back to a previous one to loop a viewer back to an earlier point in the demo.
Tips for Discovery Builder
- Blocks can be sequenced in any order — there's no fixed direction.
- Best practice: 5 or fewer Discovery Questions per demo. More than that and viewers drop off.
- Use the Call to Action interaction block to link to Simulations at the end of the demo.
Click "Save & Continue" when the flow is built.
Step 4: Stakeholder Actions
Update the Share Button label or keep it as "Invite Others." This is what viewers see if they want to bring other stakeholders into the experience.

Step 4: Stakeholder Actions — Share Button label.
Step 5: Additional Interactions
Add a static Call to Action that stays visible throughout the player experience.

Step 5: Additional Interactions — static CTA.
Step 6: Finalize and preview
Set Demo IDs, tags, thumbnail, and access. Use the preview link to walk through the experience as a viewer before publishing.

Step 6 (top) — Demo IDs and thumbnail picker.

Step 6 (mid) — Tags and Folder.

Step 6 (bottom) — Demo Access.
Important: Discovery Demos do not auto-generate a thumbnail. You'll need to upload one manually — the Step 2 background image works well as a fallback.
Publish your Discovery Demo
Click Publish to make the demo available for DemoBoards and Public Links. Unpublished demos are hidden from most users' views. You can also heart it to add it to your Favorites for quick access later.
Use case — Automate Discovery
A common pattern: open with a Discovery Question like "What's your biggest pain point?" and route viewers to the appropriate solution path. You learn about the buyer before ever speaking to them, and the demo adapts to their context.
